New CNC sets cam grinding standards....!
The installation of our bespoke CNC camshaft-grinding machine has been completed.
The Schaudt Zeus MU03 is probably the most up to date cam lobe grinding machine used in motorsport, including those used by ‘Formula One’ engine manufacturers.
The machine is three axis complete with CNC wheel dressing/profiling to enable tapered/multi angle lobe contour grinding. This gives the ability to secure work and development projects that would otherwise be sourced outside of the UK.
The Zeus MU03 is a twin spindle machine with two CBN wheels of 70mm and 400mm diameter respectively, the 70mm wheel enables the grinding of profiles with a minimum theoretical radial concavity of 36mm.
CBN offers multiple benefits over traditional grinding with improved accuracy and repeatability which is otherwise impossible to achieve.
